A Sequence of Love.

"A Sequence of Love: What is YOUR love?" was created in lieu of a student gallery exhibition.
It depicts the different kinds of love I view each day in human being's own lives; whether it be money, God, animals, their significant others, humans tend to love or fall in love with everything in the world.

Materials used:
Animation paper (obvs)
Fine Pointed Black Permanent Marker, AKA, Sharpie®
Notecards
Music by The Postal Service ® All rights reserved, their music is NOT in any way, shape, or form belonging to me.

Time spent:
1.5-2 hours.

I love this one, I may clean it up a bit.

Also, because it takes way too long to upload here on Blogger, I'm just going to use the link from my youtube account.
Which is posted above, where it says Click Here. Click on those words. Do it.
Then comment on it.

Animating again.

Excited for this term of classes! My schedule kicks ass.
Although, I'm not too sure on how I feel about 3D-1 yet.
2D is my animation preference. I can already tell it's the way I want to go D:
But we'll see!
Animations to come!

Final.

Final, for Intro to Painting.
We had to use the same colour palette as the one used in our Master Copy.
That means no straight Alizarin Crimson, or Cadmium Red, or Cadmium Yellow.
We had to mix the colours.
Curses.

So, from that Michael Hussar painting, I had to grab those colours, and apply them to my Final.
So, purples, that weird Cad red, pure ivory black...
All thems.

Here's the photo reference.

And this is just ONE of the lovely palettes used, and is what I am using for the piece.

Doo d'doo d'doooooo..
Can you see the music note hidden in there?!
The oil paint fumes and turpenoid fumes are getting in my brain!
And hereeeee. isssss....thhheee...
PROGRESS SO FAR
THAT'S THE WORDS.

Time Spent so far:
7+ hours

DERP! Master copy!

NOOOOOO
I NEED MORE TIME
MORE TIME
MORE TIME!
Alright.
Michael Hussar. You sneaky son'bitch.

There's what I'm trying to copy.
And here's what I've rendered so far.

That one was in a weird light.

You can see the purple here better. Which is what it needed.

Time spent so far: I lost track.
Over 4 hours.

Still Life?!

I love how this went from an Animation blog, to a painting blog.
THANKS MIKE

Alright.
Still life? This one was boooooss.

How would you feel, if this motherfluffer was in your bed one night?

Yeah.

The numbers. They escape me.

These are the last few self portraits that I did.
I forget the numbers, sadly D:
But in total, I did 22!
2 more than I needed to.

They all took around 2 hours, about.
Oil on canvas.
Or suckish on canvas :D

Damn your face.

I cannot stand your face any longer. It hurts. I have another 20 days to stare straight at it, maybe even more.
Everything is off. Your nose is weird, your eyes are too far apart. Possibly even too close together.
You're an awkward specimen.

The colours in your profile just don't make sense. At least, that is how it appears when I capture a fleeting moment.
And even then, it is still odd. One day, you're yellow. The next, pink. And yesterday, you were a deep, earthy grey.
You have blemishes and scars.
Scars of your past. Physical scars, and mental scars.
I'm sorry for being so forward and brash, and slightly egotistical yet somewhat amused and materialistic.
But this is what media has done to the world, honey.

I have another 20 days to stare, straight at it. Straight into it. Maybe even more.
I want to just break a mirror every time I see it.

To: My face.

Time Spent: 2 hours.

Finished product!

It looks better on camera than in real life.
Damn it, face.

Monday, June 28, 2010

Awwwwoooooooo!

8!

Why do they call it a 'mug' shot? A mug is like, a cup.
We don't have cup faces.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Reference pic:

Finished product.

I have a WOLF EAR BTW

MUGSHOT SEVEN. CAPITAL LETTERS.

BOOYA.
Damnit, Mike!

1. Time Spent: 2 hours.
2. Time Spent: 2.5 hours.
OIL ON CANVAAAAAS

Mugshot 6. 20 more to go!

I don't feel like writing more descriptions, unless I need to XD

Time Spent: 2-3 hours.
Oil on canvas.

I'm so professional B]

Why should I go to bed?! Mugshot 5!

Jesus. Mugshot five D:

There are lots of pictures to be included in here, but I shall just for now, stick with the reference-picture deal :B

This took me about 3 hours to do. I just finished right now, like literally 15 minutes ago! :D

Here is the reference:

Head is more tilty. Again. Burrrgh.

My fifth and final mugshot of this week :D
PFFFFFF

Mugshot 4. Oh, the INSANITY.

So!
Guesssss whaaat. I got smart, and hopefully this isn't cheating.
Mike, if you read this and it's cheating. Well... oops D:

Instead of just drawing from scratch and slapping paint on the canvas, I decided to pencil in my face first, and then paint over.
VîOLA!
Genius? Yes? Done before? Of course!
I'm just glad I did it :V

Well, this one turned out more...human... than the first three.
Something's off with the eyes, though. <___<

Here's the ol' reference pic.

Head's tilted more.
These are always off D:

FINISHED PIECE I AM SO TIRED I CANNOT TYPE CORRECT
tons of deletions YUM

EDIT: my nose is a jew nose.

Mugshot 3! Oh, Jesus. I've missed a few days D:

Oh, well.
Now is better than never, right?

That's the picture of 'reference'. I don't paint FROM these pictures. This is just what I LOOK like when I...paint.. them... yeah, okay.

Finished work.

They're progressively getting better each time.
At least, I like to think so D:

Mugshot 2. Complete with painting setup!

I was more pleased with this one. Yet fairly sad, because I WANT IT TO BE PHOTO QUALITY, DAMNIT!
Relax, Nicole. You're an Animator, not a painter. D:
Okay.

Those are DEFINITELY cheez-its. My painting snack of choice. Hell, it is THE snacking choice.
Although, turpenoid and snacks don't go well together.
Ah, well.

My set up, some more.

Just various pictures of how I start and end my painting session.

It was a lot of fun.

Okay.
So, here is basically what I looked like when I did my painting.

And here is the end result.

Jesus, I look at it now, and I die a little inside.

Time Spent:
Roughly 3 hours, give or take.

These are all oil on gesso'd cardboard.
Suck it.

A series of painting: Mugshot 1.

Ohhh, my first painting class. I am super enthralled to be in it this term, taught by the famous yet infamous Michael Nolan.
What a dork.

These are all oil on cardboard, primed with gesso by me.
The first couple will be monochromatic.
Wooooooo!

That picture is the reference I used.

Here is the actual painting.
OH THE HORROR!

I am so ashamed.

I always have time at 2 in the morning to post things.

Jesus Christ.
Another basic animation course study. This one was fun, however I could have done so much more. But hey, it was a BASIC animation class.

Materials used:
Col-erase pencils
Shame
Love
Animation paper

Time spent:
probably like 4 hours, tops.
I have no regrets.

This was made in my Basic Animation class. I was told I was one of the few students (out of what, five?) who actually made my sack of flour have life, character, and meaning to it. Who knew I could make something move from scratch?

Materials used:
Col-erase pencils (like a million of them)
Blood, sweat, tears
Lots of animation paper
Patience

Time spent total:
72+ hours.

Thursday, May 20, 2010

Wow, I wish I updated this thing more often than I do. Which is never.
oops.

The start of an Animator.

ASKLDHJASLKFJEWFHJEWR. That's how I feel to describe myself comfortably. Crazy; insane; short-fused; gorgeous; clever; creative; insomniac; perspective; vulgar; loud; gesticulator. A person that can make characters move in ways a human cannot.
Here, I tend to show my works in progress, no matter how painful to the eye they may be.
